Summer School 2021

 

The Birkenhead Park School held a summer school in 2021 to support a smooth and successful transition from year 6 in primary school to year 7 in secondary school.  The summer school was more important than ever given the disruption due to Covid-19 and that our new year students had not had the opportunity to visit the school during the previous twelve months.

 

All students who had been offered a place in Year 7 were invited to attend one of two weeks – either w/c 26th July or w/c 2nd August. There was a full programme of fun activities in Literacy, Performing Arts, Cooking, Physical Education, DJ Skills, ICT, Geography, Music, Mindfulness, Art, Team Building, Boxercise and an external visit from an Owl Sanctuary. Year 6 students made new friends and developed key life skills. Summer School also provided an excellent opportunity for the students to get to know members of staff and familiarise themselves with our school.
