Extracurricular activities are a valuable investment in our students’ futures, with research showing that students who participate in activities outside of their studies tend to have higher grades, better exam scores, and more positive educational experiences in general. They can also help to improve mental and physical health by reducing stress, improving mood, and increasing energy levels.

Extracurricular pursuits are any events that students participate in outside of their regular academic school day. They can be anything from sports and clubs, to volunteering and part-time work.

The Birkenhead Park School has a whole new timetable available with clubs throughout the day and after school, so there will always be something to suit everyone.

Student Engagement Officer, Miss Edwards, said: “Our new timetable has been so popular with our students, old and new, since the new term started in September. There is something for everyone including sports, languages, sewing and music. You can also ask your form mates to see what they’ve attended and enjoyed so far this term!”

Students can see what extracurricular activities are on offer at The Birkenhead Park School by having a look at the TV screens around all areas of the school. They broadcast what’s on that day, as well as the rest of the week, or alternatively, students and parents can visit https://www.birkenheadparkschool.com/students/extra-curricular.

Miss Edwards, our Student Engagement Officer, is always on-hand to help students decide what to try too.

Whether students’ passions lie with sport, music, volunteering, or they simply want to try something new, there is an extracurricular activity out there for everyone.

Don’t forget! Students should sign up for our 100 Club. They get a stamp every time they attend a club, and then they’ll be entered into a prize draw to win some great prizes.

Parents can follow us on Facebook for updates, results and photos by searching for The Birkenhead Park School.
