Pupils from the three schools got involved with a range of different activities from frisbee throwing to target practice. The games were designed to give pupils an understanding of the benefits that participation and engagement with sporting activity has and how they work in bringing people together.

Kios, from Sandbrook Primary School, said: “The leaders have really looked after us today, making sure we understood every activity, showing us what to do. I have enjoyed taking part in all of the games and especially enjoyed the target practice.”

Student leaders from The Birkenhead Park School supported the pupils with their learning and helped them with each activity.

Year 7 student leader, Harry, said: “I really loved to see the pupils interacting with each activity and having fun at the same time.”

Mrs Barnes, School Games Organiser said “The Change 4 Life festival creates an exciting and inspirational environment for the pupils to engage in school sport, to give them a sense of belonging and today’s event has gone really well. The student leaders have been a credit to our school.”
