Our new Student Ambassadors have now been chosen for the upcoming year, after a huge number of students keen to make their mark on the school applied for the roles.

As part of the school personal development programme, students were asked to join the Student Council as Student Ambassadors, to be a role model for the school, as well as providing valuable suggestions for school life. They will support teachers within the school environment by providing invaluable support, and attend important School Council meetings to discuss issues and put forward their ideas.

Being an Ambassador will teach the students essential life skills such as working as part of a team and communicating well with people in all areas of life, including external visitors to the school. Communication is a vital ability for a Student Ambassador as they will always talking to people throughout their role representing The Birkenhead Park School. Their first meeting was full of enthusiasm, and lots of fantastic ideas have already been put forward.

All of these skills add greatly to a student’s personal development as well as their life beyond school. Having the role of Student Ambassador on the students’ CVs will be looked on extremely favourably by Colleges and employers in the future.

Year 7 student, Shay Davies, said: “I can’t wait to see changes made around the school from ideas that we’ve come up with. I’m really glad I was chosen to be on the School Council.”

Students that were picked represent our school values of Positivity, Ambition, Resilience and Thoughtfulness.
