The Birkenhead Park School has celebrated its best-ever GCSE results, marking a defining moment in the school’s rapid transformation.

This year’s outcomes, confirmed by independent national analysts SISRA, are significantly above the national average and highlight the extraordinary achievements of the school.

The number of high grades achieved by students has more than doubled compared to last year, with over a quarter of students attaining a grade 7 or above. These outstanding results reflect not only the school’s commitment to academic excellence and its remarkable success in achieving some of the highest student attendance figures on the Wirral, but also the dedication and determination of the students themselves.

The transformation of The Birkenhead Park School – once regarded as underperforming – has been recognised by Ofsted, who described the school as being “on a rapid journey of improvement.” The 2025 GCSE outcomes provide undeniable evidence of that success.

On results day, Head of School, Nicola McNamee, praised both students and staff, saying:

“As we celebrate our best-ever results, I am incredibly proud – though not surprised – by the progress our students have made. Their hard work and commitment, supported by our relentless focus on high standards, excellent attendance and strong teaching, have driven these outcomes. I want to thank our students for their determination and our dedicated staff for their hard work. We are proud to serve the community of Birkenhead, and while today is a day of celebration, we are inspired to push even further. These excellent results open up more doors than ever for our students, and that is what makes this achievement so special.”

With such strong momentum, The Birkenhead Park School is determined to build on this success, continuing to raise aspirations and opportunities for young people across the Birkenhead community.
